My Bio
I’m a Ph.D. Candidate in the History Department of the University of California, Berkeley. I was raised in Riverside, California. I am a husband, and a father of two.
My Research
I am currently interested in late-19th and early-20th century business history, with a focus on Vietnamese business people’s economic, religious, mutual aid, and racial politics. I have previously researched the history of Vietnamese communist literary policy and dissidence; the history of the translation of marxist classics into Vietnamese; and the history of Sino-phobia in the Republic of Vietnam (the Saigon government). I enjoy translating Vietnamese literature into English, and keeping abreast of contemporary Vietnamese culture and politics.
